Another senior railway official is being investigated for corruption, after accusations that he received a Beijing property from the owner of a coal mine in Inner Mongolia.
Su Shunhu (蘇順虎), Deputy Director of Transport Bureau of Ministry of Railway, was detailed by the Disciplinary Commission of CPC last month.
He is the second bureau-level official to be detained. Zhang Shuguang(張曙光), former Director and Deputy Chief Engineer of Transport Bureau of Ministry of Railway Is also under investigation.
According to insiders from the railway department, Su is suspected of helping a coal mine owner from Inner Mongolia to “coordinate” railway transport for coal.
Su was last seen in public at the beginning of June when the Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway was about to open.
Since the case of Liu Zhijun(劉志軍), the former Minister of Railway who was detained for corruption on Feb 11, a series of officials in related departments and bureaus of Ministry of Railway and local railway bureaus have been held.
Those now under investigation include: Zhang Shuguang, former Director and Deputy Chief Engineer of Transport Bureau of Ministry of Railway, Shao Liping(邵力平), Director of Nanchang(南昌) Railway Bureau, Lin Fenqiang (林奮強), Director and Ma Junfei (馬俊飛), Deputy Director of Hohhot(呼和浩特) Railway Bureau.
