The EO is pleased to announce the launch of its new English language podcast, where we have conversations with the movers and shakers getting things done in China.
For each 15-20 minute episode we aim to bring intelligent and enlightening talks with figures making things happen in China. In keeping with the EO’s general content, guests will tend toward business figures, with occasional political and social analysts.
From those working with multi-national corporations, down to small mom-and-pop start-ups, we hope to explore both the guests’ specific industries, as well as their more personal experiences in the Middle Kingdom. In doing this we hope to give listeners not only a glimpse at the industry featured in each episode, but also give a peak as to what it’s like living and doing business in the complex Chinese market.
We’d like to make this podcast interactive with our readers, so if you have suggestions or requests as to what type of guest or industry you’d like to see featured, please let us know in the comments or at english@eeo.com.cn. You can also interact via the social media listed below.
In our first episode, we talk with American Carl Setzer, who gave up doing lucrative internet security consulting to start up Beijing’s first microbrewery, Great Leap Brewing. We talk about China’s alcohol industry, the hurdles he faced in setting up shop and his advice for young entrepreneurs giddy to grab a slice of the Chinese market.
