Another Swine Flu Case in Beijing
A second case of A/H1N1 swine influenza has been detected in Beijing on Wednesday, pushing the number of confirmed cases on the mainland up to five thus far.
The latest patient is a 21-year-old Chinese Canadian male, a university student from Toronto, according to a statement posted on the website of China's Health Ministry on Wednesday night.
The patient arrived in Beijing on May 16 on board flight AC031 from Toronto, the Ministry said.
The Ministry added that the patient was down with a fever around 10am on May 19; he sought treatment at a Beijing hospital around 6pm the same day, and was later isolated and put under medical observation.
The patient's throat swab sample was tested positive by Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention on May 20. The patient has since been transferred to Beijing Ditan Hospital for treatment.
