China Land Surveying and Planning Institute, a research body under the Ministry of Land and Resources, recently published statistics showing the average price of housing in China rose by 25.1 percent in 2009. The growth pace was 16 times that published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). On February 25, the NBS announced the price of housing in seventy of China's large- and medium-sized cities increased by an average of 1.5% over the course of last year.
