China's First Batch of Rare Earth Export Quotas for 2011 Drops by 50%

Based on calculations using statistics for 2010, China's first batch of rare earth export quotas in 2011 has dropped by half; though the entire annual export quota is still not fixed, an anonymous source told a reporter from the China Securities Journal. However, the entire export quota of rare earth in the coming year is not exactly comparable with that of 2010 because in 2011, the Ministry of Commerce has included foreign companies as rare earth exporters.
