Yesterday, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) released new regulations covering the pricing of newly constructed commercial properties across China. The new rules state that new commercial properties must be priced on an individual unit by unit basis and developers would be forced to clearly indicate any additional fees and aside from these fees, no additional charges could be levied on property buyers. According to the rules, once the unit prices have been set, developers will only be permited to lower prices, but any increase must first be cleared with the relevant department. The new regulations will come into effect on May 1st.
