Supreme Court Upholds Death Sentence for 7 Individuals from Xinjiang

The Supreme People's Court recently approved thedeath sentences handed down to seven individuals sentenced by an intermediate court in Kashgar for their involvement in the murder of nine people in 2008. Other individuals involved in the case also received life sentences and suspended death sentences. According to the Kashgar intermediate court, between June and October 2010, the 12 individuals came together multiple times, collected funds to engage in violent and terrorist criminal acts and purchased tools used to commit crimes.
