Li Zhuang, a Beijing lawyer jailed on charges of fabricating evidence in relation to his work representing suspects caught up in Chongqing's crackdown on gang-related crime in 2009, faces further prosecution on additional charges. Li Zhuang's case attracted a lot of attention as he first accused police of torturing his client while under interrogation and later, when he himself took the stand, accused prosecutors of failing to adhere to an agreement that would see him avoid jail time if he admitted to the charges of perjury and falsifying evidence in his appeal against his original sentence.
