16 Provinces Lift Power Prices

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) gave permission to local governments to raise the price of electricity in 16 provinces over a week ago. The largest jump in grid prices is in Shanxi, where the price of one kilowatt-hour went up by 2.6 fen. According to reports, the price increase will be shouldered by the transmission companies instead of being passed on to end consumers.
