Yesterday afternoon, at a press conference organized by China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (also known as Sinopec), the company announced that it had removed Lǔ Guǎngyú(魯廣余) from the position of CEO of Guangdong Petroluem, a subsidary of Sinopec. The company also said that Mr Lu had lied on a self-evaluation report and that he would be required to pay back the 131,100 yuan he spent on red wine which has been at the center of the "expensive alcohol" controversy.
