Sichuan GDP Up 15% in Q1

Sichuan's GDP increased by 15% to reach 425.76 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2011, according to data published by the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission yesterday. According to the data, fixed asset investment in large industrial enterprises (not including agricultural investment) increased by 22% in the first quarter and fiscal revenue also surged by over 40%. Provincial CPI was up 6.2%, with food prices up 13.7% compared to the first quarter of 2010.
