New Economic Zone Linking Chongqing and Sichuan

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said yesterday that the State Council has given approval to a plan to set up a special economic zone linking various cities in Sichuan and most of Chongqing. Over the next 4 years, the zone is expected to become a focal point of economic activity in Western China and by 2020, is expected to be one of the most important economic areas in the country.
