A Guide to Using the EO Website

As of Oct 25, 2013 we will no longer be adding new content to the EO’s English-language website. The site however will remain accessible. In order to make it easier for readers to navigate our archive, we’ve put together this brief guide.

How to Find What You’re Looking For
The Economic Observer's English-language website has been publishing content since February 2007. In the more than six years and-a-half years that we’ve been operating, we’ve posted more than 7,000 articles. Most of these have been translations of important articles that appeared in the newspaper.
If you know which article you’re looking for, the easiest approach might be to enter a keyword into the search box on the home page. If however you want to explore through the back log you can use the following “jumping off” points.

    Back Issues
We've published a weekly wrap of the contents of each week's newspaper for almost 7 years. Readers who navigate to the English language website can find detailed descriptions in clear English of the major articles in each of the roughly 300 issues of the paper that we've published since July 2007.

    Top Stories
Popular and influential posts include our translations of the newspapers coverage of the Wenzhou Train Crash in 2011 and our translation of the "The Chongqing Patient" By Liu Zhiming, Chen Yong and Zhang Xiaohui. We’ve also translated longer pieces from the Observer section by intellectuals like Sun Liping and Qin Hui.
Below you’ll also find a list of the fifteen most popular articles published on the site each year since 2007.

    Podcast
Last September, the EO kicked off the Economic Observer Podcast, which later reformatted into China Hang-up.
You can find an archive of previous episodes here. China Hang-up will be continuing at a new home, which will be announced soon.

    Special Features
Over the past few years we’ve also worked on translating some of the Special Features run by the newspaper and presented them on our English site.
Stand out publications include our examination of China's power industry reform, a guide to how China’s tax and fiscal system operates and the annual China Policy Barometer, which examines what the heads of 23 central government departments view as the most important goals and challenges facing them over the coming year.
You can find a full list of the Special Features we’ve published here: http://baihangdp.com/ens/news/special/1.shtml
