An official from the State Administration of Work Safety (SAOWS) told a journalist from Caixin Media on Sep 20 that the Wenzhou high-speed train accident "is still under investigation", and that that the is "no set timetable" as to when the investigation report into the accident will be made public.
China National Radio had earlier reported that Wang Dexue (王德學(xué)), Deputy Director of SAOWS, had said on Jul 28 that the investigation panel would try to release the report to the public by mid-Sep.
In a report published on Jul 28, the Xinhua News Agency also quoted Luo Lin (駱琳), the head of the investigative team put together by the State Council, as saying the investigative team aims to complete its investigation by mid-Sep.
According to information released by the Ministry of Railways, 40 people died in the accident and more than 200 were injured.
