Some areas in Guangzhou are already requiring people who want to buy various kinds of large kitchen knives to provide their name, address, I.D number and additional information. According to this report, the requirenebt will gradually be rolled out across the city this month. The regulations were first flagged by the municipal Public Security Bureau in August and are a temporary measure for the duration of the upcoming Asian Games.
