Studies Find Microblogs Guiding Public Opinion in China

Yesterday, Shanghai Jiao Tong University released its “Report on Influences on Public Sentiment.” The report shows that microblogs significantly influence public opinion and are becoming a favored news source. The report also suggests that governments are beginning to pay more attention to public opinion and sees the internet as an indicator of public sentiment.
