Demand for Land Exceeds Planned Supply

The Ministry of Land and Resources has learned that the entire demand of land of the country's 31 provinces and municipalities amounted to 16.16 million mu (a Chinese measure of land area equal to approximately 667 square meters) this year, far in excess of the planned supply of 6.7 million mu. The disparity will increase the risk of illegal land use.
